Tuesday was Halloween fun at Sandworld Weymouth Part two(Review).

Carrying on with our Halloween fun we went to Sandworld.

Sandworld

Sandworld is spearheaded by two local businessmen

Mark Anderson,co founder and director:

Mark took over the Weymouth sea front exhibition from his tutor and grandfather,Fred Darrington, which 90 years later continues to enchant visitors with amazing sand creations. He is a world class sand sculptor master and has exhibited and competed throughout the world.

David Hicks,co-founder

David is a local businessman and entrepreneur with a background in construction. He was inspired to become involved in the world of sand sculpting following a visit to the Presepe di Sabbia in Jesolo where his good friend Mark was working in 2005.He subsequently became involved with Mark in 2006.

Both are passionate about sculpture and versatility of sand as a medium to express art.having worked with the best sand sculptors in the world, they were inspired to bring a showcase of their talent locally, for everyone to enjoy.

Back for their fourth season with a new theme of Books & Authors.

Our thoughts:

This was our second visit to Sandworld,I used to be brought up here with my Godparent while on holiday every year and the first thing we always did was head along the seafront to see what sand creation was there, As i had my own children i would do the same with them,it was nice to carry on the season. The first i heard of Sandworld was when we moved here in October 2013,we loved our first visit and this one was no exception.

The kids went in fancy dress, very fitting for the occasion,I was gutted to miss the Spooky Stories however my kids still had tons of fun playing in the sand, making castles and generally enjoying getting wet and sandy.

We went around the displays several times, my favorites was  the Lord of the Rings,Jungle book and the one which featured the Mr.Men,Gruffalo and thing 1 and thing 2. My kids loved the Very Hungry Caterpillar.

We enjoyed a lovely spot of lunch in the cafe, before checking out the gift shop where my two enjoyed the lucky dip. We also took part in the Halloween hunt-counting the spooky pictures we saw with my kids debating between there being 15 and 16,sadly we forgot to give our answers at the end.

Final thoughts.
