Happy Valentines Day!
Happy Valentines Day!
Valentines day also know as saint valentines day or the feast of saint valentine,It is known as the celebration of love and affection where generally cards, candy, gifts, dating and special church services occur. If I am honest I believe that people should generally show more love and affection and to everyone not just those they are closest to....However I do love the whole valentines day celebration what is better than spending the day with those you love and getting a card and gifts...If we are honest with ourselfs we all yearn for that, even a card with some meaningful words a handwritten poem or a romantic walk,It's the feeling of knowing you are loved,And i believe even single people can enjoy the day for starters you get to buy some chocolate and eat it all yourself...or a pizza! and you can slob out watching films ect to your hearts content and while your at it buy yourself a few treats...because your worth it.
Anyway's we love valentines day here and celebrated it in style...of course....I was spoilt as was my boyfriend we gave each other balloons, cards, chocolate,I got a fabulous lips cushion too and a lovely and ever so sweet love sign which i have put on our kitchen window seal and did i mention my lush flowers? I totally love them!!.I am still waiting for my boyfriend to tuck into his love heart cake,I also got him socks, pants and a Hulk figure.
We have pretty much lost our balloons to Aaron! and of course valentines day wouldnt be the same without a valentines day tutu outfit from Alisha.
I hope you have all had a great day whether in a loving relationship or a singleton treating themself rotten!

Loving winter warmers and healther foods
Loving winter warmers and healthier foods
So we have decided to start a meal plan, consisting of winter warmers-frugal food meals and generally healthier food and as most of it is from using basics like potatoes, carrots, onions or fruit.I love it as it means i get to have the occasional muffin in the knowledge that i know what i'm putting in my body and combined with a healthy dinner + exercise it will all help towards my goal of losing weight and getting into shape!
Oh and did i mention we are also hoping it will cut down the cost of our shopping bills as a lot of things we will buy in big packs like carrots rather than getting the odd one and it can be used over several different meals.
Please do leave a comment with any healthy/or generally cheap and easy meals or pudding that we can try to help broaden our choices.
The other day I cooked a Sausage and onion casserole with boiled potatoes, and also made some frozen yogurt.

How to make instant frozen berry yogurt.
Ingredients:
250g frozen mixed berries
250g 0% fat greek yogurt
1Tablespoon of honey.
blend berries, yogurt and honey in a food processor for 20 seconds until it comes together in a smooth ice-cream mixture. scoop into bowls and serve.
My kids prefer runnier frozen yogurt so i added a dash of milk into the processor too but that is down to preference.

If you forget to buy a card no biggie there are lots of free E cards you can email to your loved one.
Or how about getting crafty with their lunch for work? use red or pink card to cut out a heart and write on it your own personal message, maybe write some love notes on post it's and stick them around the house where they will be found like the kettle, fridge, bathroom mirror ect. you can even use card along with ribbon or string to make a love banner and hang on the front door for the return home from work. or if you cant afford to splurge on a meal out why not buy a cheap and cheerful pizza and cut it into a heart shape. or make waffles cut into hearts and add whipped cream and some strawberries. If she or he likes reading again use card to create and design some unique book marks.... you can even do a romantic walk to watch the sunset,if you drive then drive somewhere with a nice view take a picnic(to eat in the car of course or if the weathers half decent take a rug to eat on then later to lay back and stargaze) the ideas are endless but i hope a few of my ideas help you out.! Don't forget to leave me a comment I would love to know your plans!

What is Global Development Delay?
What is Global Development Delay?
Global Development Delay(GDD) is the term used to describe a condition that occurs during the developmental period of a child between birth to 18 years old. It tends to be defined by the child being diagnosed with having a lower interllectual functioning than what is perceived as 'normal'.
normally accompanied by having significant limitations in communication, it is said to affect 1-3 % of the population.
The main causes of GDD are Chromosomal and or genetic abnormalities such as Down's Syndrome and Fragile X Syndrome or abnormalities with the structure or development of the brain or spinal cord such as Cerebral Palsy or Spina Bifida.
Other causes can inlude being bon early or infections such as Congenital Rubella or Meningitis.
Lots of tests can be done to identify the underlining cause of GDD.
Signs of Global Development Delay:
- unable to sit on the floor without support by 8 months
- unable to crawl by 12 months
- has poor social skills/judgement
- unable to rollover by 6 months
- has communication problems
- has fine/gross motor difficulties
- shows aggressive behavior as a coping skill
Now with our son he had all the above signs, he also had trouble taking milk both via breast feeding or a bottle,he suffered reflux, would literally act like he was gagging while drinking and would need to stop constantly,he stayed on smooth pureed food until 18 months as he kept choking any time we tried anything lumpy so we took a step back and gradually added the odd lump in his food till he could cope with it.Our son has had lots of tests including urine samples, blood tests and a mri scan with more to follow he also uses piedro boots to help his stability as he has hypermobility problems as well, luckily a few months ago he started to walk(he will be 4 in may) it was such a victory to witness!!
We have a long road ahead with more goals to reach and things to learn but our son will get there in his own time. I hope this may help those of you that have asked me to understand the condition a bit better :)
